This database is an electronic library of valid, active bylaws.
Not all of the Town's bylaws are listed. For clarity, we have omitted Repealed and Administrative bylaws.
When importing and scanning, not all characters are portrayed as they should be. Please use this database for your research and information, but when official reference is required, be sure to contact the Clerk's office for a copy of the original, signed documents.
PRINTING A DOCUMENT
Any document that is displayed in this screen area may be printed.
Click your mouse in this screen area.
Either
click the print icon at the very top of your screen,
OR
right click your mouse button and choose print from the pop-up menu.
How to Use the database
There are three tools to allow for easy navigation through this database:
'CONTENTS', 'INDEX' and 'SEARCH'
These tabs are at the top left of the screen.
'CONTENTS'
This list of folders on the right-hand side of the screen are the contents and will appear each time you open the database. Clicking the tab will bring you back to the listing at anytime.

The file named 'Bylaw Introduction' is this document you are reading. For reference at anytime click the file and this page will return to your screen.

The contents are divided into years.
Choose a year and click on the folder. This opens to a list of bylaws corresponding to the year.
Click on a file, the bylaw which you have selected will replace this screen.
'INDEX'
The index is a list of pre-selected search words.
Click on the tab 'Index' and a list will replace the contents listing.
Click on a word.
If only one bylaw is indexed by the word, then the bylaw will replace this screen.
If more than one file is indexed, a pop-up screen will allow you choose which file to view.
'SEARCH'
Allows you to search a specific word.
Click the tab 'Search'.
Type the word.
A listing of bylaws which contain the word you have typed will appear.
Click on a file in the listing and the bylaw will replace this screen.
If you cannot find what you are looking for, please email a detailed request to the clerk's office.
